We are seeking a passionate Director of IT Operations and Cloud Infrastructure to join our team in Austin, Texas. How you will make an impact

  • Cloud Infrastructure Management (AWS):
  • Oversee and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
  • Design and implement cloud architecture strategies to meet business objectives.
  • System and Network Administration:
  • Manage the administration of cloud-based software, databases, and network services.
  • Implement AWS security protocols to protect against cyber threats.
  • DevOps and Automation:
  • Lead AWS DevOps initiatives, focusing on CI/CD pipelines and automation.
  • Collaborate with development teams to optimize cloud performance and resolve issues.
  • Strategic Planning:
  • Align cloud operations with strategic business goals.
  • Evaluate and integrate new AWS technologies to improve cloud operations.
  • Manage the IT budget, optimizing costs while maintaining high-quality cloud services.
  • Team Leadership:
  • Lead and mentor IT and cloud teams, fostering a collaborative and productive environment.
  • Develop and enforce cloud-related IT policies and procedures.
  • Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity:
  • Create and implement AWS-based disaster recovery plans to ensure system availability.
  • Ensure business continuity by preparing for potential cloud disruptions.
  • Vendor Management:
  • Manage relationships with AWS and other cloud service providers.
  • Negotiate contracts and ensure third-party cloud services meet organizational standards.

What we are looking for

  • This position is a hybrid role, requiring onsite work at our office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday each week. The remaining days (Monday and Friday) may be worked remotely.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • 8+ years of experience in IT operations, with a strong focus on AWS cloud infrastructure.
  • 6+ years of hands-on development experience.
  • 3+ years of experience leading Development Teams.
  • 3+ years of experience as a manager of managers and Director-level folks.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Deep understanding of AWS architecture, cloud computing, and data center operations.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer) are a plus.
  • Well versed with distributed computing principles and approaches, including Kubernetes.
  • Proven experience building reliable, high-scale, cost-efficient cloud services.
  • Experience with hands-on DevOps and CI/CD practice on large scale cloud services.
  • Well versed in writing optimized code and architectural patterns for optimization.
