We are seeking a Staff Technical Program Manager to join our Galileo Processing and Core Banking team! You’ll drive programs and projects at the intersection of all the top initiatives for the business in the coming years.
This is a high visibility, high leverage, technical role. A successful candidate is hands-on and has experience leading complex programs across many parts of the business. They have an understanding of B2B SaaS platforms and complex data migrations. They will help drive the strategy while understanding the details deeply enough to have successful conversations about scope and implementation. They are familiar with operational best practices and raise the bar for our Galileo teams. They will help plan requirements, identify risks, manage schedules, and communicate clearly with project stakeholders.
The TPM is responsible for the success of their assigned programs. They are charged with understanding and validating the strategy and objectives while owning execution of the plan. Their primary tool is the program plan which includes: objectives and goals, scope, timeline, roles and responsibilities, risks, mitigation strategies, and communication plans. A good TPM creates organizational alignment with these tools. The TPM will utilize program management, technical judgment, leadership and communication skills to drive program success.
What you’ll do:
- Own and lead critical programs in the Galileo group which is the Card Processing and Digital Banking B2B platform inside of SoFi Technologies, Inc.
- Collaborate with leadership across and at all levels of Galileo to ensure assigned key initiatives have strong organizational and strategic alignment
- Manage programs and projects, defining, negotiating, and documenting milestones and success criteria, resource allocation and successful on-time delivery.
- Exercise technical judgment in working with large, cross-functional and geographically distributed teams.
- Develop tools and processes to improve software engineering productivity.
- Communicate schedules, priorities, and status to all levels in the company
- Reduce ambiguity and enable collaboration through clear written communication and documentation
- Develop high-confidence program plans with clear assumptions, risks, and success criteria
- Apply situational leadership to management situations, personalities and organizational priorities. Manage conflict or difficult personalities. Influence and motivate teams.
- Foster an effective and productive work environment and guide team members to understand project management methodology. Influence and motivate team members.
- Apply technical knowledge and judgment to translate technical issues into a course of action based on priority and impact. Serve as a source of knowledge to help teams work through complex technical decisions.
- Identify opportunities for partnerships to improve the program
- Report on the program and drive continuous improvement
What you’ll need:
- A Degree in Computer Science, a similar STEM field, or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of experience related to program management with a demonstrated track-record of delivery of technical projects
- Ability to react to change quickly and implement new processes & procedures
- Analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and organization skills with experience delivering quality under pressure.
- Effective communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proven track record of delivering large, cross-functional initiatives on time while managing competing priorities in a fast-paced and sometimes ambiguous environment.
- Understanding of B2B SaaS platforms and the ability to independently identify issues.
- Must have a strong understanding of modern API-platform technologies
- Ability to execute especially in a distributed, remote environment
Nice to have:
- Fluent in Spanish a big plus! **
- Experience with agile or lean processes is preferred
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities and multiple stakeholders simultaneously
- Experience with data migration a plus
- Experience with Jira, Confluence
- Experience working in a regulated industry, especially banking
